Simple Selected Verb: Speaking

 

Here in this section we learn the verbs vadati (वदति), vadasi (वदसि) and vadaami (वदामि). Vadati (वदति) means 'speaking'.  The verb vadati (वदति) can be used with third person singular forms. 'He is speaking' can be translated in Sanskrit in to saha vadati (सः वदति). The verb vadasi (वदसि) is used with second person singular, You. 'You are speaking' is tvam vadasi. And the verb vadaami (वदामि) is used with the first person singular, I. 'I am speaking' is aham vadaami.

 

Please note that how the verb ends with '-ti', when it is used with third person singular forms and it ends with '-si', when it is used second person singular forms and it ends with '-mi' when it is used with the first person singular forms.

Examples:

अलेक्षः वदति। Alexaha vadati. (Alexa is speaking)

त्वं वदसि। Tvam vadasi. (You are speaking)

अहं वदामि। Aham vadaami. (I am speaking)
